Another Miyoo Mini V4 Drop – Is it For You?

Whatever you threw into the handheld scene, the Miyoo Mini was ultimately compared to the 503, 353V, and X39s in size and price. And here we are now. After a protracted period of sadness, Miyoo is finally rereleasing its most popular handheld device in October 2023: the Miyoo Mini+.

When the Miyoo Mini first debuted in December 2021, its robust performance in small packaging made it an immediate hit. Even if it has 128MB of RAM and the SigmaStar processor doesn't seem like much, what about a high-quality 2.8-inch, 640x480 screen and a 1900mAh battery? It performed incredibly nicely. When combined with various personalized operating system choices, the Miyoo Mini quickly gained popularity among novice and seasoned users.

Go ahead. The V2 adds a glossy screen, additional colour options, and a different battery type, increasing the capacity to 2000mAh. What does the V3 do? The Miyoo Mini V4 will be available at the end of 2023. Due to display shortages, the 640x480 display will be swapped out for a 750x560 one, and the shoulder buttons may be upgraded to something more sensible. The battery, buttons, and processor are identical to the original Miyoo Mini V1/V2/V3.

However, that isn't significant. What matters is that Miyoo will be releasing another batch of these notorious Mini v4s on their Aliexpress store in less than 12 hours on October 15. You can purchase one of the 200 Mini V4s available in Transparent Black or Blue (the appropriate colour). The time is 4:00 p.m. Beijing time, equivalent to 1 a.m. PDT and 4 a.m. EDT. So, if you want to get a black or blue beauty, hopefully, you're prepared to set your alarms early.

What am I thinking? The Miyoo Mini V4 is a fantastic opportunity to revive a tremendous small device, but I'm concerned that the new screen will affect OS choices like Onion and scaling.
