Recommended Accessories
- MicroSD Card: You would be fine with 128GB or 256GB, given the platforms on which this runs.
- MicroSD Card Reader: The UGREEN SD Card Reader
- Charger: UGREEN 65W Charger (charges via USB-A connector)
Preparation
Clone SD card: These gadgets come with unbranded, poor-quality, and frequently failing SD cards. It would help if you changed them when the gadget is delivered. Click here to learn how to clone your SD card. I strongly advise doing so before using this advice.
Stock Setup Guide
Adding ROMs & BIOS
Attach your PC to your SD card.
If you navigate the Roms folder, you should see several folders for every system the device supports.
Moving your ROMs for each system into the appropriate system folder should be self-explanatory at this stage.
Go to the Minira folder and select Retroarch for BIOS. You can save your BIOS files inside this folder. Since stock firmware already has a lot of it, it's probably not required.
Custom Firmware Options
The stock firmware we set up above can be replaced with custom firmware. I recommend using a different, brand-new SD card to test out any custom firmware and keeping your stock one on hand in case you decide to go back.
