How to Set Up PS Remote Play on the Retroid Pocket 5

Gandhi, GC-colored RP5 owner and ardent PlayStation user said, "It's shockingly convoluted."

Before you finish reading this paragraph, you can easily set up remote play on your PlayStation 5 (or 4). Step 1: Go to the Play Store and download PS Remote Play. Step 2: Sign in after opening it. Run it in step 3 and —

Alright, I told a fib. In one article, I lied. As we read this, Stubb's is plotting my demise, and my journalistic integrity has been compromised. This is definitely one of the biggest mistakes ever made. Neither the Retroid Pocket 5 nor the Mini is compatible with the PS Remote Play software. Why? For these devices, our good colleagues at Retroid automatically unlocked the bootloader.

What is the purpose of a bootloader? It loads arbitrary code that can root your device or flash it with a fresh version of Android (which, oddly, really "voids" your warranty). When the PS App notices this on your devices, it sends you a polite but firm "Thanks, but I'm fine ." RP5 and RP Mini are depicted interchangeably throughout the text, but the procedure is the same.

Therefore, you're screwed because PS Remote play is a feat that can't be achieved. Alright, I lied twice to end our previous conversation. In any case, here's how to get the remote play to function without Sony giving you a hard time. We're going to use an old favourite for this guy: Chiaki.

Things You'll Need

  1. An RP5, RP Mini, or, honestly, any Android gadget.
  2. Nearby PS5/PS4 (obviously)
  3. The capacity to type and internet access.
  4. To put your trust (at your peril) in Joe

Steps to Set Up PlayStation Remote Play

Step 1: Download Chiaki

Download Chiaki-Up from the Play Store, then launch it on your Retroid.

Step 2: Register Your Console – Part 1

  • Crucial: Verify that your console and PlayStation are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • The presence of a PS5 on your Wi-Fi network should be automatically detected.
  • To begin the registration procedure, tap the console.
  • Choose the sort of console you use.
  • A link above, "PSN Account ID", will direct you to a website where you can get a unique key depending on your PSN ID.
  • Please copy and paste the code where it belongs in the Chiaki app.

Step 3: Register your Console – Part 2

  • A unique remote play key that is produced automatically by your PlayStation is then required.
  • Navigate to System > Settings > Remote Play.
  • After turning on remote play, return to the menu.
  • Device Pairing. An 8-digit code will be generated, which you can enter into Chiaki to register your console.
  • To remotely access your PS5 or PS4, follow the instructions on Chiaki.
  • Well done!

Step 4: You Aren't Done (Tips and Tricks)

  • Open the Chiaki-Up app with the console turned off, then select Settings in the upper right corner.
  • "Swap the Box/Pyramid and Cross/Moon buttons." As a result, your button positions will be precise.
  • Decide on 1080p as the resolution. Self-explanatory
  • Choose a bitrate of 45000.

Step 5: You Are Still Not Done

  • Tap the console in the app and choose "Wake up" to turn it on. When your PS4 or PS5 comes back, tap it one more.
  • You can turn on and off touch controls by swiping from the right to reveal options at the bottom of the screen (this is now the only way to get Home, which isn't that big of a concern). The touch screen can also be turned on as a trackpad.

That's it!

You can now boast to your friends and family that you have mastered Chiaki. As an alternative, PXPlay should function and be configured identically. Let me know below if not! Or you can get coal from the fat jolly man up north and gloat in silence.
