RG35XXSP: Everything You Need to Know!

For months, rumors have been that Anbernic is developing a clamshell portable. Stubbs can taste the RG35XXSP after they piqued our interest with the RG35XX 2024 and RG28XX.

Much of what Anbernic had to say when the initial teasers started to surface has already been discussed. We've discovered a great deal more since then, so if you're wondering what all the excitement is about, you've come to the correct spot!

RG35XXSP Design

First, let's address the obvious issues.

The community groaned a lot when videos of the RG35XXSP first surfaced because of the hideous branding on the top lid. Fortunately, Anbernic realized their mistake and removed the top logo, leaving the RG35XXSP nearly identical to the original GBA SP.

We have two shoulder buttons on the left and right, a volume rocker on the left, and power and reset buttons on the right. In addition to the two microSD card slots, a 3.5mm headphone connector is on the bottom. You won't find joysticks on the RG35XXSP, so those looking for one must wait for Miyoo's possible rival. Instead, you have a D-Pad, four action buttons, and your Start and Select buttons.

Another wise move by Anbernic is adding magnets to the top and bottom shells. This guarantees that the RG35XXSP will remain closed, which is crucial since it has Quick Resume, which allows you to continue where you left off by simply opening the lid.

Lastly, the RG35XXSP is available in four distinct colors: DMG, Silver, Transparent Black, and Transparent Blue.

RG35XXSP Specs and Performance

Anbernic continues to use the Mali G31 GPU and the Allwinner H700 SoC under the hood. We already know what to anticipate because this combo is included in the remainder of Anbernic's RG-XX series. Enjoy up to PSP and Dreamcast, with some PS1 thrown in.

RG35XXSP: Price, Deals, and Release Date

What is the price, and when can I purchase one? These are the two questions that everyone has been asking. Contrary to what we were told on the RH Podcast, the RG35XXSP is not $150. It costs only $64.99 at retail, less expensive than anticipated. Additionally, on May 17, it will go on sale at 3 AM PDT.

Anbernic also has a USB-C charging cord, screen protector, and 64GB microSD card. For those who would like a second card, a 64 GB+128 GB combo microSD card is available for $79.99.

It's not even the most significant part, though! Anbernic already gives $6 off any configuration when the RG35XXSP goes on sale! As a result, the price drops to less than $60, which is astounding. You should take advantage of this offer as soon as possible because it will only be available for three days.
