MuOS is Coming to the Anbernic RG CubeXX!
Salutations to fellow aficionados and friends. This is Mikhailov from Team Retrogue, a group that enjoys playing retro video games and the gadgets that play them.
For Kofi users, MuOS Big Banana is currently in beta testing. This version of Muos will support the recently released Anbernic RG CubeXX.
The Anbernic RG Cubexx is a portable gadget with a 1:1 720p screen and an Allwinner H700 processor. Because of this, the handheld is ideal for simulating games for the Game Boy, Nintendo DS, and TATE Mode arcade systems, as well as Pico8. Let's examine MuOS's handling of these particular systems on the CubeXX.
Nintendo DS
This Muos edition will include Drastic-trngaje, an upgraded version of the Drastic standalone emulator. Although testing is ongoing, this build will introduce a much-needed modification that prevents us from squinting to traverse the menus. I'm speaking to anyone who has attempted to use Drastic on a Linux portable computer. Once everything is finalized, some great choices, such as various screen scaling settings, will be available for DS gaming.
Game Boy
Game Boy emulation is one of the best uses for a 1:1 device, and MuOS provides the most freedom in this regard. Most of the operating system's backend is built with Retroarch to personalize shaders and overlays to your preference. To obtain an excellent, accurate image, I utilize Russ's shaders tutorial plus Jeltron's overlays, which I like.
I can apply Super Game Boy Colorization to games that support it by using the mGBA core because MuOS also permits the development of emulator cores per game.
TATE Mode Arcade Games
This isn't a luxury place. The games simply look fantastic on this screen, and this version of MuOS is straightforward to use.
PICO-8
Native support for Splore is the main attraction of adopting MuOS for PICO-8 gaming. You can browse the Splore library on the system using the built-in Wi-Fi if you bought the correct Pico8 files. You can now log into some guest networks to access Splore because this test build of MuOS enables you to join a network without a password.
PortMaster
Thanks to Muos, the RG CubeXX will also have built-in Portmaster compatibility, and its screen will support several native ports.
You can sponsor the developers on KoFI to get access to the test build. Please remember that this is a work in progress and that some difficulties may not yet have been resolved.
